Archive a Patient

Archiving a patient removes them from active lists without permanently deleting their record. You can still find and access archived patients later if needed. A patient is automatically archived when a date of death is added in the Deceased field in the patient's details.

If a special procedure, such as euthanasia, is used, the patient is also automatically archived when the procedure is added.

To permanently delete a patient from Provet Cloud, see the Edit or Delete a Client article, as the associated client must also be deleted.

To manually archive a patient:

  1. In the Clients & Patients view, find the patient you want to archive.

  2. On the patient page, select the pen button next to the Patient details section title.

  3. Select the Archived option on the patient details page.

You can find all archived patients on the Clients & Patients tab using the Archived filter. To view a specific client's archived patients, go to the client's page and select the Archived filter under Patients. Depending on the clinic location settings, archived patients may also be included in super search results.
