You can create a draft consultation for a scheduled appointment to start preparing for the consultation work before a patient arrives. In a draft consultation, you can add and edit the basic consultation details, clinical notes, and discharge instructions but not treatment items. Note that clinical notes and discharge instructions in draft consultations are not shown in the patient history.
You can create a draft consultation from the following pages:
- Appointment calendar: Right-click on the appointment and select Draft consultation from the pop-up menu.
- Dashboard: Find the appointment under Scheduled appointments, then select the button with three dots at the end of the appointment row and select Start draft consultation from the pop-up menu.
- Client page: Find the appointment under Appointments, then select select the button with three dots at the end of the appointment row and select Start draft consultation from the pop-up menu.
- Consultation page: In the appointment calendar, dashboard, or client's page, select Check in patient to go to the consultation page. On the consultation page, select Start draft consultation at the bottom of the page.
Note that with linked appointments, you can create a draft consultation for the parent appointment but not for appointments linked to it.
When the patient arrives, you can check the patient in and activate the draft consultation.
