In some situations, you may always want to apply the same percentage to items in specific departments. For example, you may want a department in the center of a large city to always have prices set to 120% of the master price, while a clinic in the countryside would always have prices set to 80%.
To achieve this, you can add the items to a category and set the categories to apply a default percentage to the items in the different departments. Note that if an item is included in more than one category with different default percentages, the highest percentage is used.
-
Go to the Categories page.
-
Find the category and select the View category link on the category row.
-
On the category page, select Enabled departments. A panel opens.
-
Under Departments filter settings, turn on the toggle so that the category can be used to process items for departments.
-
Under Apply a default percentage offset, turn on the toggle so that you can set default percentages for the departments.
-
Turn on the toggles for the departments you want to enable for the category.
-
In the Percentage fields, set the default percentages for the departments.
-
Select Confirm selection.
On the category page under the category name, you can see when a category has been enabled for departments and if default percentages have been applied.
Note that if an item is included in a category that is enabled for specific departments with default percentages set, the department settings and department specific percentages are used from the category settings and cannot be edited in the item settings.
