Use Patient Locations

To select a patient location for a patient during a draft or an active consultation, follow the instructions below:

  1. Start a consultation or a draft consultation for a patient or go to the consultation page.

  2. Under Consultation details, select a primary location for the patient from the drop-down menu on the PatientLocation 1 row. If the location has sub-location(s), a plus icon is shown next to it in the drop-down menu. Select the plus sign to expand and select a sub-location. Note that parent locations cannot be used to assign patients.

  3. If necessary, select a temporary location for the patient on the Patient Location 2 row under Consultation details. Temporary locations track short-term whereabouts, such as an exam room for the primary location and radiology for the temporary location.

  4. To edit a patient location, select the pen button at the end of the Patient Location row.

Note

Note that the patient is automatically removed from the location once the consultation has finished. When a patient is discharged, their previous location will appear in the consultation records but will no longer be considered occupied by that patient.
