Laboratory Handling and Urgency Fees on a Consultation

When the laboratory handling fee is used in your Provet Cloud and enabled in the laboratory analysis or panel settings, the fee is added automatically for laboratory referrals in a consultation. The fee is added as a separate item.

Note that if a referral on a consultation includes multiple analyses or panels, the fee is added if even one of them has the fee enabled. Some laboratory groups may also be set so that the analyses or panels included in the group are always split into separate referrals. This results in multiple handling fees unless the fee is disabled for the items.

When the laboratory urgency fee is used in your Provet Cloud, the laboratory urgency fee is selected by default when you mark a laboratory referral as urgent on a consultation. If you do not want to add the fee, deselect the Add fee for urgent processing option.
