To activate the Swedish e-prescription functionality the clinic first needs to identify itself as a legal company in Sweden. This can be done by printing and filling out the form that is attached to this article. The form should be filled by the veterinarian or owner responsible for the e-prescriptions in the clinic. Please return the filled form to support@provet.info along with your request to activate the Swedish e-prescription feature.
E-prescription set-up needs to be done in two different locations. The main setup is done in department settings and the second one is defining users who are veterinarians and that they have a prescriber ID assigned to them.
All settings for e-prescription can be found from Settings > Department > Swedish E-Prescription. When clicking the Swedish E-Prescription link in the top listing, the view will move to the relevant settings.
E-prescription enabled: Activates the e-prescription functionality for users.
Workflow type: There are two different workflow types for e-prescriptions - Default and Simplified. This affects how the items are selected for the e-prescription.
Default workflow: The default workflow is segmented to be a two-step process and designed to guide the user to do one step at a time. Firstly, the user can select to add either a medicine or a supply to the e-prescription. Both have their own search modals that then select the item for the prescription. Multiple items can be added from the plus icon at the bottom part of the dialogue.
The e-prescription can only be saved as a draft first before it can be sent forward. Once saved, the e-prescription can be sent forward.
Simplified workflow: Designed to be more compact and faster. Combines item searching directly to the first dialogue. Added items are listed in the lower half. The completed e-prescription can be saved and sent with one click. We recommend this workflow to be used. This function also has the added option to see FASS dosage instructions as well as use the clinic’s own text templates for medicines.
Show ‘Add order’: is the “Add order” option visible in the e-prescription modal. This gives the option for the user to request the medicine to be delivered to a specific pharmacy or even to the client’s address if possible.
Show ‘Add fee’: This gives the option to add a separate fee to the e-prescription that is then paid by the pharmacy to the specified account. This requires the clinic to have a separate agreement with the clinic to do this.
Allow creating E-prescriptions as counter sales without consultation: If this is enabled, users can also create e-prescriptions directly from patient view and any fees are invoiced as counter sales.
Default items for counter sale: It is possible to define one or more items to be added to a counter sale invoice when creating an e-prescription. These can be used to invoice the customer for a separate fee for doing the e-prescription. These items are added for each separate prescription.
Default items for a consultation: It is possible to define one or more items to be added to a consultation when creating an e-prescription. These can be used to invoice the customer for a separate fee for doing the e-prescription. These items are added for each separate prescription.
Max amount of default items for a consultation: Maximum number of items that are added to a consultation from e-prescriptions.
Require client data before writing e-prescriptions: If this setting is activated, the user is first asked to verify client information before being able to create the e-prescription.
Send a notification SMS to the client when the e-prescription is approved: Activates the sending of a notification to the client when e-hälsomyndighet has approved the e-prescription.
Text for SMS notification: Content of the SMS notification.
Every veterinarian who is allowed to create and send e-prescriptions must have a valid prescriber ID defined in their user profile. This is something that is done by the clinic’s administrative user from user management. (Settings > Users).
The user profile has a field for Prescriber ID which is their official registered veterinarian ID in e-hälsomyndighet. Without this, the user will not be able to create e-prescriptions.
Also, the user’s work role should be set as “Veterinarian”.
