Hardware Requirements and Recommendations
Network Connection
Provet Cloud does not require large download speeds, but the stability of the connection is important. We recommend at least 5 Mbps of bandwidth per user and a stable connection (low latency, no packet loss, low jitter). Cable connection is preferred, but Provet Cloud also works normally with good WiFi or 4G (or above) connections. Consult your local network administrator for more information.
Computer
Provet Cloud works well on modern phones, tablets, laptops and regular desktop computers that can run the latest web browser versions smoothly. It is recommended to use laptops or desktop computers for daily work.
Recommended desktop computer for the best experience:
- Modern multi-core (4+) processor with at least 2 GHz speed
- A dedicated graphics card is not required but can improve performance
- 8 GB of system memory (RAM) or more
- A Solid State Drive (SSD) disk for data storage
- 1920x1080 resolution 24-inch monitor (larger screens and resolutions can improve the experience)
- Standard computer mouse (instead trackpad or other pointer systems)
Software Requirements
Browser Choice
Provet Cloud is a web application and thus the web browser choice is the main factor here. We recommend using the latest version of Google Chrome since this browser is used to develop and test Provet Cloud. Other well-known browsers like Firefox, Safari and newer versions of Microsoft Edge also work, but as always, it is essential that the latest version of the browser would be in use.
Operating System
The browser choice dictates the operating system requirements. Generally speaking, the latest versions of Microsoft Windows and macOS are recommended, depending on your computer hardware.
Recommendations
As of the time of writing this article, the recommendations are as follows:
Windows
- Windows 10 or later
- Google Chrome version 81 or later
macOS
- OS X Yosemite 10.10 or later
- Google Chrome version 81 or later
Up-to-date system requirements of Google Chrome can be found from this support page.
How can I check my browser version?
On a Windows Computer
On Google Chrome, open the browser menu (three small dots on the top right corner of the window), choose the “Help” submenu, and “About Google Chrome”. The browser’s help area will open, displaying the version number.
The process will be similar with other browsers.
