Provet Cloud provides a function which helps to avoid the creation of duplicate patient accounts.
When creating a new patient and defining the patient's general information, if a microchip number is entered which is an exact match to another microchip number already assigned to an existing patient, the user will receive a warning notification. An example is shown below.
You are then able to select the blue "Show duplicates" button, located within the warning notification, to review matching account patient information, as shown below.
If the matching patient account(s) are indeed duplicates and correspond to the current patient account you are attempting to create, you can bypass and cancel the new patient creation by selecting "Open patient page", which will redirect you to the patient's page.
If alternatively, the matching patient account(s) are not duplicates and you wish to continue the new patient creation process, select "Cancel" or the "X" icon.
You will be redirected to the new patient creation page, where you will need to confirm the creation of the patient regardless of the matching duplicate microchip ID by checking "Save regardless of duplicate microchip ID", then select "save" to complete the creation process as usual.
