Overview
Item subgroups allow you to manage your item list by grouping items into subset groups of your master item list. Additionally, subgroups of subgroups can be created to further manage and organize items for inventory management and reporting benefits.
Instruction
Creating Item Subgroups
Item subgroups are created from the item settings page. To access item subgroups please follow: Settings > Items & Lists > Items > Subgroups
- Select the "Add" button to open the subgroup creation prompt, shown below.
- Complete the 'title' field
- Complete the 'item type' field which defines the type of items that can be included in this subgroup
- Confirm if 'performed by' is required for all items within this subgroup when they are added to the treatment items during an ongoing consultation
- Confirm if you would like items of this subgroup to be displayed within their own tables on any invoicing printouts
- Select "save"
Creating Item Subgroups from Parent Subgroups
Once a parent item subgroup has been created as instructed above, additional item subgroups can be created which are subsets of the parent subgroup. Many of the creation steps are very similar to creating a parent subgroup, however you will need to define the parent group.
An example scenario where a parent subgroup with an additional subgroup could be beneficial would be for example: Parent subgroup- Pharmacy Revenue, Subgroup- Parasite prevention, Analgesics, Antibiotics, Steroid.
- Select the "Add" button to open the subgroup creation prompt
- Complete the 'title' and 'item type' fields similarly as performed above
- Select the parent group which the subgroup will be associated with
- Confirm if 'performed by' is required for all items within this subgroup when they are added to the treatment items during an ongoing consultation
- Confirm if you would like items of this subgroup to be displayed within their own tables on any invoicing printouts
- Select "save"
Assigning a Subgroup to an Item
Once an item subgroup has been created, it is available to assign items from your master list to. To assign an item a subgroup:
- Open an item's details prompt
- Search for an existing item from the item settings page (Settings > items & lists > items > items > search)
- Select "add item" from the item settings page (Settings > items & lists > items > add item)
- Locate the 'subgroup' drop-down menu & select the appropriate subgroup. An example screen is shown below for reference.
- Any parent subgroup selections are shown with a forward slash between the parent subgroup and subgroup
- Any parent subgroup selections are shown with a forward slash between the parent subgroup and subgroup
- Once all appropriate information fields have been defined and chosen, select "save"
