Add or Update Item Barcodes

This guide explains how to add or update item barcodes within your Provet Cloud Catalogue. You can enter barcodes manually or use a scanner.

  1. Go to Catalogue > Items. Enter the barcode digits in the Search field to check that the barcode has not already been linked to an item.

  2. Find and open the item you want to add a barcode to.

  3. Under Item description, add the barcode to the Barcode field. If an item needs two barcodes, you can add another in the Code field (note that this field may already be in use for SKU product information).

  4. Select Save.

Barcode Entry Tips

  • Manual Entry: When entering barcodes manually, do not include spaces, dashes, or other formatting characters. These are typically for human readability only.

  • Using a Scanner:

    • To add a barcode using a scanner, click in the Barcode field and then scan the item. The barcode will automatically populate the field.

    • You can also use a scanner to search for an item. Click in the Search field on the Items view and then scan the item (e.g., a food bag) you want to find in your item list.
