Adding a Post-Consultation Diagnosis on a Patient Page
Editing and Deleting Complication Reports
Introduction
You can add a diagnosis for the patient on the consultation page during an ongoing consultation. After the consultation invoice has been finalised, it is no longer possible to edit the diagnosis or add a new one on the consultation page. However, if you need to add a diagnosis later (for example, after you have received laboratory results), you can add it on the patient page and link it to the consultation.
If complication reports are used in your Provet Cloud, and you have the required permissions, you can also add complication reports for patients.
For the settings required for using the diagnosis and complication report features, see Diagnosis and Complication Report Settings.
Adding a Diagnosis During a Consultation
1. Select the diagnosis.
On the consultation page, start typing in the search field under Diagnosis to open a list of diagnoses and select the appropriate diagnosis from the list. The available diagnoses are defined in the settings. Depending on the department settings, a diagnosis may be always required for a consultation. If adding a diagnosis is mandatory, but there is no need for a diagnosis, you can select a 'no diagnosis' option from the list.
If the patient has previous diagnoses, you can select Previous diagnoses to view and select them.
Depending on the settings, the + Custom diagnosis button may also be available for adding a free text diagnosis.
2. Add the diagnosis category, type and description.
- In a multi-patient consultation, first select the patient(s) that the diagnosis applies to.
- If you are adding a custom diagnosis, add a name for it in the Diagnosis name field.
- Under Category, select whether the diagnosis is primary or secondary.
- Under Type, select whether the diagnosis is final or differential.
- In the Description field, you can add more information related to this diagnosis specifically.
- You can select a date and time in the Date field. If you do not select a date and time, the current date and time are saved when you save the diagnosis.
- The main Veterinarian of the consultation is added automatically to the diagnosis, but you can change it if necessary.
- If complication reports are used in your Provet Cloud and you have the required permissions, you can create a complication report by selecting the Create a complication report and create a task option. This option is selected by default for diagnoses that are set as complication diagnoses in the settings. Otherwise, the Do not create a complication report option is selected by default. You can also select the Complication report category and Complication report subcategory or add them later on the patient page. When you save a diagnosis with complication report selections, a task for filling out the complication report is created for you. Go to the patient page to edit the complication report.
- When finished, select Save.
Editing and Deleting Diagnoses
Note that depending on the settings, you may or may not be able to edit or add diagnoses on the consultation page after the consultation invoice has been finalised. If editing is not allowed, you can add a new diagnosis on the patient page if necessary and link it to the appropriate consultation.
To edit a diagnosis on the consultation page, select the pen button at the end of the diagnosis row.
To delete a diagnosis, select the pen button at the end of the diagnosis row and then select Delete in the dialogue.
Adding a Post-Consultation Diagnosis on a Patient Page
You can find a patient's all diagnoses on the patient page, on the Diagnoses and History tabs. If your settings do not allow adding or editing diagnoses after a consultation has been finalised, you can add a post-consultation diagnosis on the patient page and link it to the consultation.
- On the client page, select the patient you want to add a diagnosis for and go to the Diagnoses tab.
- Select the Add diagnosis button in the top right-hand side corner of the section. A dialogue opens.
- From the Consultation drop-down list, select the consultation to which you want to link the diagnosis.
- Start typing in the search field under Select diagnosis to open the diagnosis list and the select the appropriate diagnosis. Another dialogue opens.
- Add the diagnosis category, type and description.
Adding Complication Reports
Complication reports can be used to track complications for your clinic. Two-level tracking is used in Provet Cloud with categories and subcategories (for example, category 'Medicine side-effects' with subcategories 'Vomiting', 'Diarrhea', etc.). The categories and subcategories for your clinic are defined in your Provet Cloud settings.
If complication reports are used in your Provet Cloud and you have the required permissions, you can add complication reports on the patient pages. You can also create a complication report when adding a diagnosis on a consultation page and then edit the report on the patient page.
Note that there are currently no clinic-level complication reports in Provet Cloud; you can only view complication reports for individual patients on the patient page.
- On a patient page, select Tools > Add complication report. You can also scroll down to the Complication reports section and select the + button next to the section title (the section is visible if at least one complication report has been created for the patient before). The complication report dialogue opens.
- Select the complication report Category and Subcategory.
- Type the complication description in the Description field and/or add any related files to the 'Drop files here to upload' area.
- On the right-hand side of the dialogue, you can view the patient's history. From the Filter by consultation drop-down list, you can select any previous consultation to view the consultation details. If you want to link the complication report to a specific consultation (for example, the consultation during which the complication first occurred), select the consultation and then the Lock consultation button.
- When finished, select Save.
Editing and Deleting Complication Reports
If complication reports are used in your Provet Cloud and you have the required permissions, you can view, add and edit complication reports. A patient's all complication reports are listed on the patient page in the Complication reports section. Note that complication reports are not included in the patient history.
To edit or delete complication reports, select the pen or trashcan button at the end of the complication report row. For editing the complication report information, see Adding Complication Reports.
