Introduction
Viewing and sending diagnostic images, created by the imaging devices you may have in your clinic or hospital, is possible with the Provet Cloud PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) feature set.
PACS works hand-in-hand with the diagnostic imaging worklist is a feature of Provet Cloud that allows diagnostic imaging referrals to be sent from Provet Cloud to various diagnostic imaging devices in your clinic that support it. The referrals can include patient info and info about how the imaging should be done (for example, what area of the animal should be studied). This takes away the need to enter patient info into the devices manually, speeds up the workflow and reduces human errors.
If you don't have those features in your subscription yet but are interested, please contact your local Provet Cloud Sales representative or Provet Cloud Support. The features are add-ons with extra monthly cost and set-up fees.
Viewing Diagnostic Images
From Consultations
Once imaging is complete at the imaging device, and the images are archived in Provet Cloud PACS, you can view the images directly from the consultation. Navigate to the 'Diagnostic imaging' subsection and select the blue 'Show images of' button. This will open the integrated medDream image viewer.
At first use, the system asks you for login credentials which you can receive from your clinic or hospital administrator.
A list of the patient's diagnostic imaging studies is presented. Select the desired study by clicking or tapping on it. The medDream viewer will open.
The medDream viewer allows you to view the images in a flexible way, similar to programs commonly found in diagnostic imaging workstations. You can also export images in various formats.
From the Patient Page
Similarly, you can find the blue 'Show images of' button from the top of the patient page. This also opens the medDream viewer as described above.
Sending Diagnostic Images
You can send diagnostic images directly to an email using the blue 'Send images of' button at the 'Diagnostic imaging' subsection displayed above. You can select images you want to send and you can freely type the email addresses, so you can send the images either to the animal owner or another vet, for example.
