Introduction

If enabled in the department settings, you can add linked appointments to a client. Linked appointments can be useful, for example, when a patient is seen by two different veterinary specialists during the same day. Linked appointments can have different reasons, staff and time, but they can be processed with the same consultation.

Linking Existing Appointments

1. Open the appointment you want to link to another appointment.
2. In the Appointment details dialogue, select Link to an appointment.
3. In the Link to appointment dialogue, find the appointment you want to link to and select Link to appointment at the end of the row.
4. Select Save.

Adding and Linking a New Appointment 

1. Create an appointment and select Add multiple appointments (a). You can also open an existing appointment and select Add appointments (b). The details of the first appointment are shown in a pop-up at the bottom of the screen.
2. Add another new appointment in the calendar and save. 
   
   TIP! Using the internal booking appointment type option, you can schedule time internally for another staff resource without sending the client unnecessary messages related to the internal appointment.
3. The details of the new appointment are shown below the first appointment in the pop-up at the bottom of the screen. Select Save in the pop-up to save and link the two appointments.

Settings > General > Department > Booking Settings

• Enable multi appointments (linked appointments): When this setting is selected, you can create linked appointments for the same client and patient with different staff, time and reason.
• Allow multi appointments to be created only for same date: When this setting is selected, you can create linked appointments only for the same day. Otherwise, you can link appointments between different days.
• Admit multi appointments separately: When this setting is selected, you have to admit linked appointments separately. Otherwise, you can admit linked appointments in one go. 
• Always admit multi appointments to the same consultation: When this setting is selected, linked appointments are processed as one consultation. Otherwise, you can select whether to process the linked appointments as one or start a new consultation for each.
• Use main appointment's supervising veterinarian: When this setting is selected, the main appointment's veterinarian is shown in the consultation information when a linked appointment is admitted. Otherwise, the consultation information shows the linked appointment's veterinarian.
